If you’re getting bored of the Axis of Football (Nike, Adidas and Puma)’s hold of the market, then you may be interested in seeing what other manufacturers offer. In a refreshing change from Puma football boots and Umbro football boots, Asics is a relatively small Italian company, who always seem to linger around the fair to middling mark when it comes to sports equipment. Probably their best boot is the Testimonial, which is an ultra comfortable shoe worth taking a look at if you fancy a change from the norm.
Made from real kangaroo leather, they not only feel great, but will last you a fair while if you take care of them. Depending upon your preference, you can buy them either in studded or moulded footplates, although personally I’ve always been a sucker for the more traditional studs. You can really see that some care has gone into producing these, and each football boot is hand made in Italy, as opposed to a machine in some factory production line.
Would I purchase these over other more famous rival boots? To be honest, not really, as they don’t allow for the same amount of ball control that you can get from your Nike Total 90’s or Puma King’s of this world. Still, if you’re looking for something a bit different to wear than all your other mates, they are worth trying out. You may just be pleasantly surprised.
